Beam Stick Nuance Balloton

Overview

Beam Stick Nuance Balloton Edition is the new OLEV mouth-blown glass lamp, handmade using the special “balloton” technique. What makes it unique is the glass sphere’s particular three-dimensional effect, obtained by placing the incandescent glass inside a metal mold with small pyramid-shaped tips.

This technique creates a raised criss-cross pattern on the glass, which looks almost like a soft matelassé fabric. The hollow sphere contains a dual light source that allows a gentle glow to softly filter from the inside, enhancing the glass’s fine nuances, and at the same time projects an unfiltered light beam downwards.

Each glass sphere is molded by the master glassmakers who keep the ancient Venetian art alive, giving life to a one-of-a-kind, Italian-Made object with great artistic value.
