Xavier College Two Wells Campus

A Vibrant, Future Focused Campus

The newly built Middle / Senior School at Xavier College Two Wells Campus, north of Adelaide, marks a significant milestone in the schools long term growth and commitment to creating a modern, flexible learning environment for students. As part of Stage 4 of the campus redevelopment, the building consolidates science laboratories, art studios, maker spaces, multipurpose rooms and a dedicated performance and media suite into one cohesive environment. At the heart of it all is a lively student hub and a staff centre designed to foster collaboration and connection. The project also delivered fully equipped Food Technology kitchens with commercial grade appliances, a redesigned canteen and a collection of adaptable general learning areas capable of accommodating a range of teaching methodologies.

Outdoor spaces were thoughtfully redeveloped to create a more dynamic and engaging environment for students, including a new soccer pitch, six multipurpose sports courts, landscaped seating zones, raised planter beds and distinctive in-situ concrete feature walls that define key circulation paths and gathering areas. Upgrades to parking and vehicle access further enhance the efficiency and overall functionality of the precinct as the school continues to grow.

Lighting Solution

HI Lighting played a pivotal role central role in the delivery of the project’s lighting design and supply, working closely with architects, designers and contractors to ensure the lighting responded seamlessly to each space’s requirements. Linear extrusion became a prominent architectural and functional feature across the development. Classrooms were illuminated with rod suspended extrusion that provided clean, modern lines and balanced light levels, while surface mounted and curved extrusion was integrated into circulation zones and feature ceilings to complement the building’s geometry and interior palette. Tailored solutions were developed for the staff centre and Food Technology kitchens to meet their unique performance needs, and subtle integrated accent lighting was incorporated into stairways and fine architectural details to enhance safety while supporting the building’s contemporary aesthetic.

A significant proportion of the luminaires supplied were Australian Made, reflecting both the project’s sustainability objectives and HI Lighting’s commitment to supporting local manufacturing. Our long standing partnerships with high quality Australian manufacturers ensured the project benefited from reliable product availability, customisation capability and longterm sustainability. This collaborative approach was essential in meeting the demanding technical and aesthetic standards of the redevelopment.

Project Outcome

The completion of the Middle / Senior School at Xavier College Two Wells Campus represents far more than the opening of a new facility, it is a bold investment in the future of learning. By combining innovative specialist facilities with vibrant communal spaces and thoughtfully designed outdoor environments, the redevelopment creates a dynamic setting where students and staff can thrive. HI Lighting is proud to have contributed to this vision by delivering a sophisticated, well considered lighting solution that enhances not only the operation of each space but also the character and atmosphere of the entire precinct. Through a strong focus on locally sourced products, sustainable practice and close collaboration with project stakeholders, HI Lighting helped shape a vibrant, future focused campus that will support Xavier College’s growth and aspirations for many years to come.
